23 April 2014: Competition Co-Founder Robert Masters has died

We are saddened to hear that Robert Masters, friend and colleague of Yehudi Menuhin and the co-founder of both theYehudi Menuhin School and the Competition has passed away on Yehudi’s birthday in Sydney aged 97. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

He was a Royal Academy of Music alumni and this article captures his collaboration with Yehudi Menuhin.

The Competition’s Artistic Director Gordon Back, who knew Robert Masters personally syas: “He was a wonderful man, who offered his wisdom and guidance right through to the recent Menuhin Competition in Austin. I will miss him.”
