Klara Gronet was born in Warsaw and started playing the violin aged 7 with teacher Anna Rzymyszkiewicz. She worked with Professor Magdalena Szczepanowska for 2 years and she currently studies under Professor Robert Szreder at the Zenon Brzewski Music School in Warsaw and at the Zuyd University Maastricht Academy of Music. Klara is a winner of several national and international competitions, she takes part in summer and winter music courses. In 2015 she worked with professors Emmy Verhey and Dora Schwarzberg.

“Finding out that I will play in the Menuhin Competition has been the most surprising, exciting and stunning moment of my life. The strongest emotion I feel is that of gratitude, for being chosen to participate in such a fantastic festival and to share my great passion for the violin. Secondly I feel honoured to play a part in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Yehudi Menuhin’s birth amongst so many other talented musicians. I am excited to meet, spend time with and learn from the Jury, Organisers and Contestants and to create unique, long-lasting relationships that will, I hope, form the Festival Family. Furthermore, taking part in masterclasses always brings me lots of joy, as I love to work with new people and to exchange ideas that help us to spread our wings. This is my first visit to London and the Royal Academy of Music, so the opportunity to perform in the Duke’s Hall is a huge thrill. Above all I can’t wait to be a member of the Menuhin Competition Team and to enjoy the experiences it brings to the maximum.” (Klara Gronet)
