The programme for the Menuhin Competition Geneva 2018 has been announced, and tickets are now on sale for the events taking place from 12 – 22 April 2018!
The international jury panel of the Menuhin Competition Geneva 2018 will be Pamela Frank (Chair, USA), Joji Hattori (Vice Chair, Japan/Austria), Itamar Golan (Lithuania/Israel), Ilya Gringolts (Russia/Switzerland), Henning Kraggerud (Norway), Lu Siqing (China), Josef Špa?ek (Czech Republic), Maxim Vengerov (Monaco) and Soyoung Yoon (South Korea).
Unique to the Menuhin Competition is the varied role that our jurors play. As well as adjudicating the Competition, the jury will give concerts and masterclasses to competitors.
We are also delighted to be joined by our three orchestral partners throughout the Competition: the opening concert features Geneva’s own Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Marin Alsop, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève will perform, conducted by Joji Hattori, and will accompany the Junior Final, and London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Julian Rachlin, will accompany the Senior Final, and then round off the Competition with the Closing Gala Concert.
In addition to the Senior and Junior competition events, performances by members of the star-studded jury and orchestral concerts, there will also be concerts featuring jazz and electronic music, performances by previous prizewinners, a conference about the classical music industry and masterclasses given by the jurors.
