January 2016 – Artistic Director and Austin 2014’s Junior 1st Prize perform at World Economic Forum in Davos

16 year old violin prodigy Rennosuke Fukuda, winner of the Junior 1st Prize at 2014’s edition of the Menuhin Competition, performed a recital at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland – the World Food Programme, the food assistance and emergency relief agency of the UN.

On Thursday 21 January 2016, Rennosuke, accompanied by the Menuhin Competition’s Artistic Director, Gordon Back, performed at the World Food Programme “World Leaders” event, hosted by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. Rennosuke also performed alongside Mali’s Grammy Award-nominated duo Amadou & Mariam. Known as “the blind couple from Mali”, Rennosuke improvised with the duo showing his extraordinary talent across the musical spectrum.

The intimate Davos concert was a unique opportunity to support the World Food Programme which Rennosuke feels honoured to be supporting. The audience included Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Al Hussein.
