Menuhin Competition presence at Verbier Festival
The Menuhin Competition will be present at this year’s Verbier Festival in a variety of ways, from competitors, prizewinners and jurors performing to our very own Artistic Director, Gordon Back, chairing the jury for the Vendome Prize.
Winner of the Menuhin Competition Austin 2014 Junior 2nd Prize, Daniel Lozakovitj, will perform Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 on 25th July with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra and will perform a chamber music recital on 27th July.
The Vendome Prize first rounds take place on 29th-30th July and the three finalists compete in recital with the Gringolts Quartet, led of course by Menuhin Competition Geneva 2018 juror Ilya Gringolts, on 1st August. Full details of the jury, chaired by Gordon Back, is available here.
Finally, Menuhin Competition Folkestone 1993 competitor Janine Jansen will be performing three concerts on 2nd, 4th and 6th August, the latter of which will be the final event of the festival.
